In order to accept credit cards electronically you must have an Internet Merchant account and Secure Access to an Encrypted Payment Gateway to process credit cards. It is a proven fact of business that the ability to accept credit card payments increases sales by 30% to 50%. If you already have a Merchant Account for your business, it may or may not be Internet enabled.You can determine this by contacting your Bank and showing this list of providers linked below.
To qualify for an Internet Merchant Account, you must first have a checking account with a US bank and a US address. Merchant account roviders provide a Key and a merchant ID for your website account.
